Wait, so certain fighters get a pass for taking easy fights after taking a tough fight? Thurman barely fights twice a year, if that, and its ok for him to fight easy fights. A lot of fighters now a days can take easy fights after one tough fight and people are ok with it. Yet everyone expected Floyd to take tough fights every time out and **** it on him for fighting a mandatory in Guerrero or fighting Ortiz for the WBC title, or finishing his 20 year career fighting Berto.

So the guy you are talking about has been retired for almost 1.5yrs.. let it go..
Has Thurman been fighting bums? No..
The guy had a good fight and in the moment of cherishing a victory if he is asked who is he fighting next, any sensible man would say "I'll take some time off and think through the options". Of course he has expressed interest in fighting all champs at 147.. he called out Floyd too to be his 49th fight in case you had forgotten..
I don't see anyone calling Thurman out just yet.. So let's give the man his break and hope he fights the winner of Brook - Spence next year.. a fight of that magnitude needs to marinate too..

Not a fan of Thurman anymore. He was stronger and faster than Garcia, he should have finished him off instead of backpedaling the last half of the fight.

Damn can Thurman take a rest and enjoy his victory ?? I mean really he just won the belt 2 days ago and their already asking when he's going to fight next! ! I hope he waits and defends late in the year. Enjoy your spoils Keith.

Thurman doesn't fight often enough. Should stay busier for sure.

His mandatory (Peterson) won't be an easy fight either, because Pete can really push the pace down the stretch. He's not gonna be shy about letting his hands go like Garcia was. If Thurman doesn't stop Pete early, it can turn into a barn-burner.

The only reason Thurman is relevant is because people want to see his career ended by Spence. Of course Thurman isn't going to fight Spence, he has had one excuse after another after another for years to avoid The Truth. Ain't nobody gonna watch Thurman fight anyone not named Spence.
