Comments Thread For: Thurman Noncommittal on Facing Brook-Spence Winner Next

NEW YORK Keith Thurman against the Kell Brook-Errol Spence Jr. winner is one of the fights fans will want to see most later this year. Thurman indicated after his split-decision defeat of Danny Garcia on Saturday night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center that he wants that fight, too. The WBA/WBC world welterweight champion just doesn't know when would be a realistic time to expect that unification fight to take place.

Thurman has indicated he would prefer fighting Spence down the line to build the fight up as opposed to right away. If Spence is able to conquer the a more seasoned elite fighter like Brook I'd say he is ready for One Time. I'd love to see it right away instead of a build up. I don't think that fight is going to get to a PPV level anyways. If Thurman gets another top dog in the ring like the Pac/Khan winner then I'm ok with it though because that would be another unification.

In the case forget the stay busy fight card. This guy either needs to fight his mandatory or the Spence-Brook winner. Boxing is doing very good.don't mess it up

              Really?

Simply assuming that Spence is going to get past Brook, who is by far the greatest challenge in his career, is hubris of the highest order.

Let the fight happen first, and let Spence win, before labeling him some kind of monster, and Keith some kind of herbivore.

Peterson is a good stay busy fight if he's mandated. Then Spence at the end of this year or early next depending how busy he intents to be.

I expect Spence will want a fight or two before facing Thurman, maximise his earning potential and taking on a guys who will give him rounds, besides Brook in the back waters of the UK ain't no easy task, he'll have to stop Brook to get a decision a win over Berto/Porter winner would give him some serious momentum.

He should fight Big Pete next and get that mando out of the way. Brook will move up, win or lose vs. Spence I'd imagine so that won't be an option. If Spence wins, that will make for a huge fight down the line.
