I immediately identified it, and many people here obviously did, too. It's been mentioned several times now. Thurman's decision to circle while barely engaging nearly cost him last night's decision. Keith should've known better. The De La Hoya-Trinidad outcome is well-known to boxing fans.
I think it was in-between the ninth and tenth rounds that Thurman's trainer told him to "be smart." The implication was clear: "Don't get overly aggressive and get caught." I couldn't agree more. But that's a far cry from running around the ring and avoiding contact. Keith gave away the last two rounds and made the contest much closer than it should've been. Thurman's not a dumb guy, but he was ****** to think that boxing judges could be trusted to score a fight fairly. Case in point: one judge had the fight for Garcia. Ridiculous.
