Canelo was in the low 170s when he used to weigh in, his higest was 174, a 20 pound cut.


The unofficial record in boxing i think is 24 pounds, it might be brandon rios, i dont remember.

anyways, canelo isnt shattering records for khan with 30-35 pound cut for glass chinned khan.


MMA fighters for whatever reason seem to cut more than boxers. upper 20s, which would be a record in boxing, seems pretty common. maybe its because they only fight for 15 minutes instead of 36, or they dont mind taking more risks

The unofficial record is Clottey against Chico Corrales.

Clotted's FN weight was 170 after weighing in at 147. EDT - he made 149 as it was a CW bout. Still I can't find anything over 21 pounds. Actually Chavez Jr. checked it once at 180 or 181 once.



If somebody can find video of anything higher than this I'd love to see it.

Everytime Khan talks Canelo's weight goes up, first it was in the 170s, then he said 180s, now it's 190.

Stand corrected - here's a MMA fighter, Thiago Alves, who weighed in at 170.5 and tipped the scales BAREFOOT too, it appears, at 197.6 supposedly just "three hours" after weighing in.

I don't know if I believe it, though. All it has is a picture of a pair of bare feet on a scale with a number.
