He is running out of time to make his mark. Sure, he is the best middleweight of his era, but the history books will mostly show his resume. Sure, he is being ducked, but history won't care about that either.

If he gets the Canelo fight soon, he will make short work of it. Canelo will get beaten, and it will be about as close as his loss to PBF was.

This will help GGG's legacy, but then people will say 'so what? Canelo is good but not great' etc etc. It might not be his fault, but it is what it is.

Time is not on his side.

He needs to fight a couple of more champions, beating Daniel Jacobs puts him in the top 20 to me and I think I'm being way to generous, GGG must fight and beat other current champions or P4P rated guys his size or bigger to get to the top 10. GGG only has 1 former Middleweight champion and 1 current middleweight champion on his resume, the other current champion he faced was Kell Brook, who is a welterweight, that fight against Jacobs is definitley a step in the right direction and he deserves credit if he wins but he needs more than 2 current champions to be top 10 of all time.

In an era with so many belts, its pretty pathetic.... Danny has a minor trinket...don't count nor do those fake "17" title defenses....lol...boy bigdramashow reaching. Wba regular. Defenses don't combine with super title defenses, hell its been 2 wba titlist his entire reign

I like GGG, I really do. He is an exciting fighter and his skills are severely underrated. But GGG and "all-time" in the same sentence is a mockery at this point. When all is said and done, we will see.

Danny's a very solid win, but the problem with Danny is he's so unaccomplished. He hasn't done much outside the upset win over Quillin. His next best wins are Sergio Mora and Caleb Truax. GGG can only get so much credit for beating a guy with a body of work like that. Danny looks to have some great skills, but he's been too inactive and match too softly most times.

Personally I think Danny's as talented as Jermain Taylor. Taylor also had a fairly weak MW resume outside his two wins over Hopkins. Taylor feasted on JMW's - Bunema, Marquez, Spinks, Ouma, and Wright. Then his only other significant MW wins were an old/shot Joppy and Eduoard. Even outside the Hopkins wins, I don't feel Danny matches Jermain's body of work.

If Jacobs was on Hopkin's MW resume, he'd probably be rated comparable to Howard Eastman, Robert Allen, or Antwun Echols (Hopkins best MW wins outside of Trinidad).
