He also said it would be a huge 2016 for GGG but what happened? Dont get me wrong im a fan but i dont give a **** about what Loeffler says. Well, of Course others are to blame as well, at least Jacobs is not THAT bad and has the guts to face GGG.

Golovkin will be lucky if his year is:
        March - Jacobs
        June - Saunders
        Sept - Khurtsidze/Langford
        Dec - T.Johnson/Derevyanchenko/Charlo
De La Hoya will make another Chavez fight until ggg looks like crap against Jacobs.

In effect, he is saying that beating Jacobs improves his negotiating power for the Alvarez fight. At the margin, the size of the PPV gate depends on the interest of casual fans, but few casuals have even heard of Golovkin, much less of Jacobs. Beating Jacobs does not move the needle for GGG unless the fight does huge PPV numbers. As others have pointed out, if PPV numbers are small and the Canelo/Chavez numbers are big, even the $15 million offer may disappear.
The 15m was recently debunked by GBP president. He said it's inaccurate.

De Ala Hoya recently said no contracts will be signed until after Chavez.

So, yea De La Hoya isn't going to put Canelo in with ggg yet.

GGG isn't pricing himself out, that's just dumb.

I hope the Canelo fight happens. If the Jr. PPV does well, I could see GBP want to protect their cashcow. Why fight a real killer like GGG if Canelo can do good $$$ fighting stunts. I could see either a Jr or a Cotto rematch (if Cotto can re-establish himself with a win) in Sept.

I am of 2 minds on whether GGG should try to fight BJS in June. On the one hand, why jeopardize a much bigger fight w Canelo. On the other hand if GGG delays his career, just to be jilted by Team Canelo, he'll feel ******.

In any case, after Sept 17, unless GGG is guaranteed the next fight is Canelo, he should move up. Time is wasting on his career. Follow up a good 2017 (Jacobs & BJS would be an excellent year) with a good 2018 at 168

I don't necessarily disagree with your take. It is a bit of a chess match at this point with a lot of moving pieces. Whatever figure the magic $15 million really is, Golvokin's bargaining will be weakened if he does not get good PPV numbers. Let's face it. Golovkin is not a big draw and GB is not eager to have Canelo face him. If the Golovkin/Jacobs fight draws a low PPV and they continue to refuse the GB offer, I can see GB spinning it to say that GGG's team wants too much money, i.e., priced themselves out. I agree that if the Canelo/Chavez fight is compelling there is no way we will see a Golovkin/Alvarez fight in September.

              whoah !

"If the Golovkin/Jacobs fight draws a low PPV and they continue to refuse the GB offer"..... then it is clearly fkn obvious that Team Golovkin priced themselves out

              right ?

Oscar won't need to " spin " anything, right ?

unless..... you have already decided how it will play out ?

Like he said, his next opponent will be the top guy and it should be in the US but instead it'll be in his home country.

Saunders is actually looking in top form right now as he's been training under Adam Booth. I wish he would've fought Khurtsidze prior to Golovkin, but oh well.
I didn't know that. But ..... unless it's a signed deal it's not a done deal. So you reckon BJS has been given an advance by either K2 or Warren to pay off Khurtsidze? Maybe. And if DLH rides into town waving a $7M check?

You're correct it's definitely not a done deal, but I don't see DLH being a factor. Canelo/Chavez will be tied up til May, then if Canelo wins he won't be back til Sept. BJS isn't sitting that long. Khurtsidze/Langford fight in April then the WBO will be wanting the winner fighting for the full title by the end of the year.

I think you might be right. At that point, we will have to see how the public reacts.
