Comments Thread For: Bellew's Trainer Says David Haye Has Big Doubts, Explains Why

The man David Haye on Thursday dismissed as "a little rat coach" has revealed the insight his time working in the Hayemaker camp has brought to Tony Bellew's fight preparations. Bellew's respected trainer Dave Coldwell, who has overseen his fighter's rise to become the WBC cruiserweight champion, will again be in his corner during Saturday's fight at London's 02 Arena and for the first time working against Haye.

I am very confident that David Haye will beat Tony Bellew, but i will have to be honest about Shane Mcguigan? Adam Booth in my opinion suits David Haye much better! Adam Booth suits David Haye's talents, and knows how to extract them more precisely! one thing i have noticed about Shane Mcguigan is that he is very poor with his pad-work.......

I can honestly see David Haye teaming back up with Adam Booth in the future (During the Bellew vs Haye press conference, Mcguigan does not really show much support for Haye! Adam Booth was a intimidating psychological presence! when opponents used to face David Haye in the past? they where competing with two things? David Haye's physical attributes, and Adam Booth's mind!)....

Shane Mcguigan needs to grow in confidence, he seems very timid when speaking! come on man grow in confidence! (But I think being around David Haye will slowly help him grow his confidence! i can remember when George Groves used to idolize Haye, and this situation between Haye & Mcguigan reminds me of that dynamic).

I predict by some bizarre twist, Adam Booth is going to return as David Haye's trainer in the next coming months...

Haye's face and mannerisms have just looked different in every presser building up to this. He seems irritable and overcompensates with every reaction and sentence. Just not used to seeing him like this. He's usually relaxed taking shots at everyone--his whole career he was that way. This time he isn't.

What has Adam Booth accomplished since? Not much.

Booth molded Haye into the fighter he is today. Shane is just padwork, Haye isn't learning anything new.

Haye will get beaten again soundly when he steps up. Bellew has a shot at beating him.

Noticed that too, hes acting really agitated and out of character.

Lately Haye needs a team of 'yes men' around him (or nut huggers) Booth probably challenged Haye more back in the day, they were a good combination.

The thing that annoys me with Haye is that he has never really achieved anything really great - he never beaten a top HW and his biggest fights were all domestic - Harrison and Chisora...

He pulls out of fights claiming injuries and is very good at hyping himself without ever really challenging himself.

He is talented, but to much of an egotistical tit to really make the most of it.

I hope Bellew gives him some work, but I kind of doubt it.

Like today at the weigh-in, he was making all of these crazy faces and statements like he was trying to convince himself of something. Just weird.
