I think it's a tough fight with Thurman winning possibly by KO late

Could he outbox Danny if Danny is hitting him flush. Both Collazo and Guerrero had him fighting on his back feet after he couldn't KO them. And once Thurman gets hit with a good shot that hurts him, he backs off and retreats. Danny can take a punch and I just don't see how Thurman can KO him, if a KO happens it will be Thurman hitting the floor as he was been hurt by lesser fighters. Danny isn't Porter, Porter rushes in and smothers his own punches. They'll both hit each other but I just think Danny can take it more than Thurman.
Good post - I just see that Garcia has fought lower level comp at 147. Above 140 he has never really convinced me because either the opponent was low standard - past prime Malignaggi, Salka, Vargas OR quite good - Peterson - but the decision was close or questionable, OR the opponent was past it - Guerrero (as evidenced by later fights) . In each case he did enough.
Thurman is at least a level or two above all those fighters apart from Peterson. Porter is the same and Thurman handled him well.
So all things considered Garcia will have to fight above his own 147 level to get past the Thurman we saw against Porter.

Last few fights fought better opponents is natural welter bigger of the two. Moves better than Garcia. Herrera with 0 power outboxed Garcia and was robbed close decision. If Thurman moves when Garcia wants to fight and fights when Garcia is on the move I like him to catch Garcia coming in with power left hook counters like he caught porter. How experts say Garcia way better boxer where how? He was outboxed by Herrera and Peterson
And Khan until Khan's chin betrayed him. Matthyse is not known for his slickness. Peterson lost that fight by running too much. Last 5 rounds he beat up Garcia. Herrera - something like 75% of boxing correspondents thought he was robbed post fight. They polled them and that was how it came out. Must have asked some different correspondents this time.

It's a great fight and a difficult fight for both of them. But the arguments given out to support Danny just don't tie in with what I have seen. danny is quick? No not really. Sly and stealthy - yes. If he was so quick how come he was out boxed by peterson and Herrera neither of whom are outright speedsters. Porter is a very legit contender based off his fights with Brook, Thurman and Broner. He is no slouch but he was handled by Thurman.

I'm just going to enjoy the fact that 2 undefeated champions in their prime will be fighting in free TV. Great for boxing.
