He can become the lineal champion. He can not unify the title. There are 17 weight classes in boxing. Only two champions hold 3 of the 4 belts. Ward, who you love so much, and GGG who you hate so much. No champion holds all 4 belts. That means his chances of holding all 4 belts at the same time are about zero in 17. I am a long time boxing fan and I can't remember a time when a boxer held all 4 belts at the same time. Can you remember any boxer who held all 4 belts at the same time in any of the 17 weight classes? Seriously.Comment

I don't think Mikey Garcia stays at 135lbs for long enough to unify the belts there; he's got a WBC mandatory coming due, Oscar and Haymon don't really do business (so he's going to need Crolla to win), the WBo has it's own mandatory situation to square away, and then there's the IBF belt, with it's own mandatory to work through.
You're looking at maybe 5 fights being needed for Mikey to unify the belts.
Mikey has maybe 3 fights, imo, left at 135lbs, before he settles in for a long career at 140lbs (only going up to 147lbs during the tail-end of his run), where I see him taking the shot at unifying the division.Comment

he is too small for 147 and would get trounced....140 is his ceiling imoI don't think Mikey Garcia stays at 135lbs for long enough to unify the belts there; he's got a WBC mandatory coming due, Oscar and Haymon don't really do business (so he's going to need Crolla to win), the WBo has it's own mandatory situation to square away, and then there's the IBF belt, with it's own mandatory to work through.
