Comments Thread For: Froch: Haye Must Not Struggle, Has To Beat Bellew in Style

According to retired former super middleweight world champion Carl Froch, simply defeating Tony Bellew is not enough for heavyweight contender David Haye. He says Haye must not only defeat Bellew, but defeat him in a statement making performance. Haye, 36, has fought twice since returning from a three-year absence while WBC cruiserweight champion Bellew, from Liverpool, is moving up in weight to take on the Londoner.

Bellew didn't stay in camp with Haye he has no idea how much gas he has in the tank. If Bellew waits to round 5 to start fighting full throttle the fight will be over already he will be saving energy for rounds that won't be happening. Haye is going to unload full power full speed until Bellew crumbles.

Lets hope Haye doesn't look as smooth as you did against Ward. Slapped you silly with one good hand. He ducks low you mean like pep, Floyd , and Whitaker? He holds? Don't let him punch out of it. I think Floyd , Ali, countless others held. Your mad you couldn't hit him clean come out fight him

The status quo seems to be stating that? if this fight goes long David Haye will struggle! (I completely disagree!)......i believe that Tony Bellew has made a strategic mistake during his training camp! (He looks to have put weight on, and the weight is a combination nonfunctional muscle mass and blubber!)...Where as David Haye has leaned out, and lost weight! his power to weight ratio is probably improved! because he has still maintained his strength levels! which is also going to maintain his punching power! Every single fighter has a optimal weight range where they perform best, Tony Bellew had semi-decent speed at cruiser-weight and his endurance had improved from his days at 175! (Bellew should of just trained to face a cruiser-weight! but i genuinely believe all of the mind games David Haye has been playing have duped him! into eating his way into the heavyweight division! Deep down he knows he has made a strategic mistake, and he has effectively over shot his optimal fighting range!)....

David Haye is not a big heavyweight, he is a old school heavyweight from a physiological perspective. He is a throwback to the fighters from the 70's and 80's, that pretty much fought like big middle-weights.

The longer this fight goes, i actually think the easier the fight will become for David Haye! and i can envision him having fun with Toney Bellew, and purposely implementing a slow drawn out beating! (That will effectively break down Tony Bellew both physically & psychologically as a fighter!)....

If Haye struggles he can forget about Joshua or Wilder
