Comments Thread For: Golovkin: Jacobs is Not Fake, a True Fighter - My Best Opponent!
In a few weeks, Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) defends his WBA, IBF, WBC, IBO middleweight titles against Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) at the famed Madison Square Garden in New York.
If Danny wins, i will take my hat off to him and pat him on the back if i could. GGG won't be just a hype job, but certainly not the fighter i thought he was.
However, i see Golovkin feeling out Jacobs early (doing very little in first half of first round), then establiahing his ram rod jab, which all his opponents know about and is more impressive given his lack of speed.
After the 1st i see Golovkin proving to everyone he is on a different level. I mean no disrespect to Danny but Golovkin is just a knotch above him in more ways than one. I don't think Golovkin will be as cautious and defense orientated as he was with Lemieux because he knows Jacobs chin is suspect, and wants to put on a show.
Unfortunately for Danny i don't see it going to the scorecards, i hope it does though!
After the fight, all will know that Danny was the #1 contender and was not on the same level as the champ. This MAYBE will help people realize why GGG has been avoided.
I must admit i am a little bias though as i am from Kyrgyzstan also.
No he is not your best opponent, he's a step behind Geale, Brook, Lemieux, and Murray
Geale and Murray I just cant believe that Daniel is not a bigger win. Brook is too small and Lemieux I can give you a maybe. I believe I missed the sarcasm

At least Geale beat guys like Strum, Sylveter, and Munidne, and if not mistaken Murray beat Martinez but was robbed, Brook might be two weights below but at least he has wins over Porter and Senchenko

Have to disagree with your there. He's not great by any stretch of the imagination but he's a step up from those 4, who are all mediocre middleweights.
This fight doesn't make Golovkin's resume impressive, but let's not rob him of all credit here.
