Decent numbers considering how unpopular boxing has become. I think DSG vs thurman should get more viewers.

Check out UFC on Fox numbers in comparison to PBC main events on network TV...boxing isn't doing as bad as most claim. If you take out the Wilder cards, PBC'S Saturday night prime time numbers are right on par with UFC. (Since the launch of PBC the overnight ratings *excluding Wilder have been 3.1, 2.9, 2.4, 3.0, and 3.1) (UFConFox ratings since the launch of PBC have been 2.4, 2.2, 2.2, 2.4, 2.1, 2.4, 2.2, 2.6, and 2.0)

As shown, numbers for boxing are actually on average higher. *The numbers for both exclude DVR numbers which would raise these figures.

Boxing isn't dead, it just suffers from a broken model where fans either can't access content (due to premium cable b.s.) and/or find it easily (PBC randomness with platforms).

If boxing was on one platform (or a few) that were easy to find/access the ratings would be much higher on average.

You also need to understand UFC is a brand that is now approaching 25 years old. PBC has two years under it to market a whole new boxing platform to consumers. It's actually doing quite well considering and is probably on track for a significant TV deal soon

I agree, but I haven't figured out how PBC squares that away with the promoters and showtime. I'm guessing the plan is to have a model where the promoters are paid from a "production budget" (similar to how HBO and Showtime pay for cards) that is administered by the PBC brand. But this still doesn't account for the clear interest Moonves at CBS has in PBC. It'll all work itself out, and hopefully for the fans benefit.

No HBO shows have done better than that, not recently anyway.

Spence was able to do 6 million because there really wasn't anything to compete against him with. These numbers will go up after the playoffs.

Terrible ratings - Wilder is totally unknown in the US - how could he ever fight against guys like Klitschko or Joshua and demand a high purse? He brings nothing to the table except the title...
