I just don't see anything special with both fighters. Danny have slow feet, his hands aren't fast, his power seems medicore, and just doesn't seem that athletic. Both his offense and defense seems so average I'm just not a fan of him.

Thurman seems ok with power just cause as he moved up in competition he haven't knocked anyone out, has better footwork, and I think have faster hands than Garcia. He have a fan friendly style where he doesn't make the fight ugly by hugging and clinching too much but again I just don't see that he's a great talent.

I think Thurman will UD Garcia unless some ****** judges to happen because Garcia always get some iffy decisions just cause I don't see what Garcia does better then Thurman.
I don't think either is exceptional either but they are well matched and the top guys in the division. Its all one can ask for.

On nsb though I think of them as more of hardcore fans and no one's talking about this and I thought people would love this matchup. Only time a thread ever got created on this fight is when Angel does some ****** **** and it gets headline and then talked about. Spence easily gets more thread about him then both Thurman and Garcia.
I think too much of the discussion has been about Floyd and Conor because both of these dudes transcend their sport and are pop culture icons. So yes, Garcia/Thurman has taken a back seat to that but that is understandable.

Much like Ward/Kov this is a fight fans fight, juts minus the racial element that drove much of the Ward/Kov discussion.

I frankly don't expect a fight like this to get the big time buzz like say a floyd fight since neither guy transcends the sport.

Hype typically starts Friday after the weigh-in and lasts until fightime on Saturday. That's how it is for pretty much all the fights these days.
