Comments Thread For: David Allen Confirmed For David Haye vs. Tony Bellew Card

David Allen has had his next fight confirmed. The Conisbrough heavyweight returned to winning ways last Saturday on the back of two defeats at the hands of Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz. Allen (now 10-2-1, 7 KOs) took just 31 seconds to get rid of Hungary's Lukasz Rusiewicz at Hull's Ice Arena, as part of the undercard to Gavin McDonnell's brave but ultimately losing effort at the hands of Rey Vargas for the vacant WBC world super-bantamweight title.

That fat lazy slob can't go 2 rounds without getting gassed. May as well just retire.

He went 10 round distance with Dillian Whyte.

Gassed against Ortiz but he took the fight on only a few weeks notice. Still lasted as long as a fully fit Bryant Jennings though so he kind of performed beyond expectation on that occasion.

If Allen trains consistently he's got potential to become a world class heavyweight who could give anyone a good, entertaining fight. Has to work on his punches though and he seems to be improving that aspect of his game with his last fight.

He doesn't train hard enough & his only good trait is a decent chin. He'll never be dedicated enough to go anywhere other than British level at best.

To be fair, judging by his last fight, his in far better shape than some supposedly world class heavyweights like Breazeale, Ruiz etc..

Besides, his latests fights have all been at very short notice.

I don't really see it. I think he could probably win a British title at best. I was just pointing out that he's not in bad shape compared to today's heavyweights, but that isn't saying much.

Hearn was saying the other day he wants to get him a proper conditioning coach and training and try to build him properly. Good luck to Allen though, i think he seems a top lad and seems to be gaining a bit of a following. Has a set of balls on him too, tough as nails.

I doubt he's going to become a world beater but hopefully he can make a decent career out of it.

Dunno why Hearn's took a shine to this plodding journeyman. Probably cos he acts an idiot on Twitter. That's all it takes to get a promoter behind you these days.

Allen can be involved in good domestic fights and fights against prospects for years to come, so "Operation White Rhino" is a good investment for Hearn
