    can anyone clue me in?

i'm a life long boxing fan but always love learning more about what i don't know. primo carnera. i'd think he'd have dominated given his size back in his era. does anyone know why he didn't?

Primo Carnera was among the slowest heavyweights in the history of boxing. Opponents such as Max Baer coul just run circles around him pot shotting.

i see. correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't valuev slow as molasses, himself? i don't if he had any knockout power, but i'd think he'd be able to use his size and intimidation to his advantage in the era he was in. thanks, though.

carnera was mob controlled, a lot of his fights were probably fixed. he could use his intimidation against the lesser fighters but the top tier knew they could beat his ass. if you look back at his whole record you will see that he lost to many mediocre fighters.

i never even thought about him being mob controlled, being italian back then. i have an old ring mag with a pic of him and sharkey staring off at the weigh-in, and it's like, damn. he looked mean as hell, was huge, and even with sharkey standing on the scale was still smaller. thanks for the info.

how is it a joke? i don't know anything except pics and stats from carnera, i'm in a forum filled with folks that know a lot about a lot to do with boxers, and i wanted to know more. if that's asking too much let me know and i'll just write you and see what's okay to post in here, okay? thanks.

yeah, he does. and i can't wait for klitschko to get the other belts so he can go and put valuev in his rightful place.
