No, not at all. Canelo is Mexican, from the way he talks, to to the music he listens to, to the food he eats. No body cares about his skin color, he is one hundred percent Mexican.

If some Mexicans favor Jr over Canelo, it's because of his diva antics and/or because of Chavez Sr.

No. The Mexicans love them both. I don't think they think of Canelo as a white Irishman. I think they consider him a fellow Mexican. Canelo is heavily favored because he has shown to be a vastly superior fighter to the undependable Chavez. It's no more complicated than that.
