If you were there Washington was out of it. The refs job is there to protect the fighter foremost. Washington hasn't complained about the stoppage. Must have not been to bad... it about wilder he may be prone to injury, but in this fight it seemed like he was just looking for the one shot for the home town crowd. He has the power and he wanted to put on a show. Once he had him hurt he let the hands go.

"Wilder is Done" What a ridiculous assertion to make about a 38-0 fighter who has dominated most of his fights and has take little punishment in doing so.

Wilder has flaws no doubt, but has tremendous power, has an extreme killer instinct and his always in shape and committed to his craft. Based on last night, Wilder's team needs to make some tweaks but he is still IMO one of the top 3 HWs in the sport today.

        Fighters get staggered? NOWAY!
Yes it happens. And if it occurs after a knockdown and they're unable to face the ref because they can't control their legs, he'll stop it.

Especially a ref who was there for Wilder-Szpilka and saw what the guy who had the other man already hurt could do to another man with a gloved fist.

I was there ringside. He was stumbling and didn't have control of his legs. Maybe he did after the ref waved it off.

In any case, he and his trainer were asked several times after the fight if they thought the stoppage was fair and they didn't disagree. But whatever. Not sure what point people are trying to make here. Something childish, probably.

If anything, Wilder was better in this fight than most others. He didn't throw windmills whole fight, was responsible defensively. He still has no jab and poor form at times, but he fought well last night.
I think his jab is actually his biggest strength. Guy is really really hard to beat. Consider Washington is almost identical in size and reach to Joshua and you see how he needed some time to feel it out..

dominating 38 hat stands and coming out with little punishment is not difficult.

The fight was not stopped after the ref had a look or any such thing. He jumped in and then jumped back out and then jumped back in lol farcical and unprofessional.

AJ is levels above washington.. Joshua has much better ring craft and self-understanding of his space than washington.

To even compare the two is laughable.
                  Who compared aj with Washington?

Agreed. He should've stopped it earlier.
