Comments Thread For: Washington: I Got Impatient, I Went For It and Wilder Caught Me

Deontay Wilder proved his surgically repaired right hand is still a devastating force - once he unleashed it. Wilder returned from right arm injuries to stop Gerald Washington in the fifth round and retain his WBC heavyweight title Saturday night in a fight that heated up quickly after a quiet start.

Wilder was waiting for him to drop his hands. Washington's jab worked so well, because Wilder wasn't worried about it.

Wilder finally threw more than one jab. Then he threw his jab and left it there, Washington never saw the right hand. Really was simple as that. That right hand is.........truly a force of evil.

It worked well because Wilder isn't used to educated jabs and isn't accustomed to defending against them.

It's called a punchers chance for a reason.

Klitschko would easily pick Wilder apart. I just don't see how wilder can defend himself and land on his own also knowing Klitschko takes everyone's right hand away for some reason.
