    Is Mayweather Hurting His Fighters?

We all know he is forcing fighters he sign to train out of his gym. We know the big war between him and davis and mayweather where mayweather was gonna sabotage davis title shot over davis wanting to train back at his home place and refusing to training out of the mayweather club.

Now he signed neno rodriquez and neno had to go to mayweather gym to train and he looked like shit in his first fight after beening forced to spend the first camp at mayweather gym.

"Neno" Rodriguez was having his first fight with a new trainer, fighting against the solid rugged-type fighters that Mayweather seems more than willing to throw his fighters in with at any time.

To put the performance off on Rodriguez having to train at Mayweather's gym (and ignore the fact that he's no longer training under Robert Garcia) is a mistake.

Floyd wanted to move Davis (and Davis' whole camp) out of Baltimore because he openly worried about Davis' safety in his city. David stuck to his guns, Floyd stuck with Davis, and now Davis has a world title around his waist. Davis has talked about heading to the UK for his mandatory defense, but the rest is now on him.

MGM National Harbor (and their 3,000-seat venue) just opened up an hour from Baltimore, and Davis (if he keeps winning) is set to be in position to start earning big money in the near future. Hopefully Davis and his urge to stay home works out.

From what i have witnessed, i think he is doing a good for his fighters! He is probably one of the best promoters in america already! if you can put up with his ego, and personality........

Floyd Mayweather does not drink alcohol or take drugs, and he still has his competitive sporting mentality! Its is these overlooked variables that will lead him to massive success outside of the boxing ring...

Allot of the other promoters in my opinion are not as competitive, and on the sly have bad habits.

is neno training at floyd gym though? whos his trainer, thought he was somewhere else

im pretty sure robert garcia was also managing neno so not like he could just cut him off from managing and keep training with him. Would be awkward as hell

This & if he is was he forced or pushed into that move? If thats the case I think thats a problem.

I think Mayweather likes to be too hands on in some ways & wants to micromanage some things his fighters don't necessarily want help with regardless of any particular situation with this thread about training in Vegas. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink as they say & Floyd will eventually find that out if he keeps trying to push square pegs in round holes.

I will say that if Floyd does want guys to line up in formation with his desires he needs to be making this clear pre-signing them. He'll be saving his fighters & himself a lot of unneeded drama by doing so & finding the guys that'll have the most positive benefits from Floyd's & the fighters preferences matching up better.

I don't like Maywea8 forcing fighters to train at his gym but I'm not even sure if is true. He wanted Davis to train at his gym & Davis said no but Mayweather still got him a title shot. If a guy refuses and Mayweather doesn't shelve him I don't understand how you can say he's forcing them. If he were forcing them there would be some type of punishment for refusing

Gervonta Davis is all of 22 years old, is a 4-year pro, and is at a weight where near all of the top talent is looped in with Arum/Oscar (WBA 130lb Jezreel Corrales could likely be enticed over for the right price; looking at BoxRec's ratings, 7 of the top 8 fighters at the weight are on the other side of the fence).

There's almost literally no reason to rush Gervonta Davis into anything.

Liam Walsh (UK fighter that I've never seen fight) is the mandatory challenger, but, after that, Davis has Jhonny Gonzalez, Malcolm Klassen (South African fighter I've never seen fight), Javier Fortuna, Billy Dib, and Tevin Farmer (likely the toughest fight in the queue, tbh) as options before starting to thirst for fights.

Fight him out of a MGM National Harbor as his home venue (unless he can get the co-feature position on one of the mega-shows), but focus on getting him that extra bit of seasoning before looking to unify all of the belts. at the weight.

Don't blame Mayweather for fighters struggles in the ring, signing with Promoter doesn't mean it is HIS JOB to make you better! Saul is 23 years old relax with all this trying to rush guys into stardom it takes TIME and I think Saul is talented enough to reach that level. You clean up what didn't work last night and you comeback strong your next fight. Sometimes when you face inferior opponents yeah you tend to get a bit sloppy defensively, might even take them lightly then you end up on a fight you wasn't expecting...IT HAPPENS!

Stop blaming Mayweather and Promoters IN GENERAL for fighters short comings in the ring!
