Exactly! Thank you. And most all of his opponents at 155 have been JMW's. Cotto, Khan (WW), Lara, Angulo and even Liam Smith (154 but same thing about Canelo blowing up). His resume after looking like an amateur against Floyd shows that all he has done since is bullying JMW's. This is why I feel that he's only a top draw because of his heritage he hasn't really earned anything always fighting smaller/slower guys.

isnt canelo a current JMW champion??
he can rehydrate 200lbs and is none of your business, as long as he can hit the scale at 154 then he is a JMW... and he just did in his last fight...

FACT: Canelo has never fought AT middleweight

only the ******est casual-fans tried that argument

answer the question casual fan..... if 155 is middleweight, then why wouldn't lil'G fight Canelo at "middleweight"?..... oh right, because 155 is not middleweight

stop being ******..... 155 is 1lb over the JMW limit you moron, you clearly know nothing about boxing or about making weight..... Canelo will be much stronger at 160

I grant you that, many of the currently rated middleweights are at best journeymen and even though they're rated we know they're all subpar. I think that what has changed in the last 30-40 years is technology. Advanced training technology and medicine allows boxers to sit where they want in a wide range of weights. I see a lot of talented guys sitting and waiting for a single big fight at JMW (Andrade, Jermall, Lara and even Canelo). They do that to stay near the big money at welterweight and now that the Floyd and Pacman era is fading you'll see these guys move up to middleweight to be near the big Canelo-GGG money. Jermall has already made the move up. Another benefit of the advanced technology is that boxers can now easily look to have a 20+ year careers fighting maybe twice a year. Back then 80's/90's great boxers might have a 15 year career or less like SRL and Hagler.

I maintain that it is impossible to compare generations of boxing especially when you factor in all the advancements in technology, length of careers and fighting frequency. If the PBC becomes the new norm and guys fight maybe once a year then it will be even more difficult to compare in the future.

We're left only with the eye test. We know GGG, Canelo, Andrade, Jermall, Lara, Jacobs, Eubanks, Sanders should all fight each other but in this day and age we'll have to wait years for many of these fights. In the 80's/90's they wanted to prove they were the best now they just do it for the money. Hard to argue against boxers getting smarter.

Another thing we have to always keep in mind is that it's natural to always consider the past better than the future. Right or wrong that's the norm. Music, sports, literature, technology, movies, etc. Old timers always love the past better.

Currently Con-nelo is preparing to fight at 164.555555LOL

If he were the WBO JMW champion he would be preparing to defend his title against #1 WBO JMW contender Andrade? He's been bullying JMW's for a long time it's time for him to step up and try to regain the WBC middleweight from a true middleweight who is probably smaller than him. Too many weight games from Con-nelo.

I never thought he would run from anybody but I agree that building the GGG fight is a smart move. So I give him and GBP credit for that. If he would just come out and say it; "I'm not running, I'm just building the fight. The 155 weight was a silly excuse from mean, the flat fee was another excuse from me" but nobody wants honesty. We all prefer talking trash.

of course canelo is doing a money grab at a CW at 164, but as of today he is still a JMW champion, he might never fight in that division again, but his last fight was at 154, and he is still the champion even if he fights at heavyweight next... thats not even up for debate unless the wbo says so, and as far as i know canelo is still their champion until the end of the year...

                1) Can you get a belt for a weight class that you've never fought at? No.

                2) Can you then wax, buff and polish said belt to give to GGG? Yes. Con-nelo did it!

                3) Do you know the definition of the word limit? No.

                4) What is the middleweight range in your opinion? Since it doesn't start after 1 lb over JMW, does it start after 2, 3, 4 lbs over? Should fans follow the established weight classes or should we just let you and Con-nelo determine them?

                5) Answering your question again: GGG wanted to fight Con-nelo at middleweight but instead of fighting GGG Con-nelo gave GGG his (you guessed it) WBC middleweight belt. I know Con-nelo fans don't like this word but the rule is that if you're the champion defending the middleweight belt you cannot enforce a catch-weight within the weight class. You have to defend against any challenger in that weight class (range).

                6) I'm tired of schooling you. You need special education and there is nothing wrong with that but I'm not trained to deal with people that don't understand simple concepts.

                7) LMFAO... "Canelo would be stronger at 160" BUT he made that weight an issue to avoid the fight in Sep '16.

                8) Lastly, current news: Tom Loeffler and Eric Gomez are supposedly very close to an agreement on GGG-Canelo for the fall '17. IF that does go through I bet you GBP will be caving in on all the ****** false information they wanted people like you to believe. The fight will be at 160 and GGG will get a fair percentage that he most definitely deserves because he's the undisputed King at middleweight.

They can run but they can't hide... Con-nelo, BJS, Jacobs, Eubanks. All have been called out for years and only Jacobs has stepped forward so far.

Defending Con-nelo and GBP is a full-time job. Can you please remind me who were Con-nelos last two opponents that they handpicked? Please remind me again.

middleweights do not weigh 155, YOU DUMB CVNT, they weigh 160..... seriously, how long have you been following this sport, name one middleweight who weighs 155..... just 1?

you fkn ******s tried that rubbish for MONTHS..... oh, up until Canelo won the WBO JMW title, AT 154

attempting to paint Canelo as a middleweight, simply because it benefited your pacifist girlfriend..... was nothing but a fool's errand..... and yet, here you are again, doing the exact same thing LMAO

here, I will paint you a picture AGAIN, seeing that you are A DUMB CVNT.....

FACT: Canelo has never fought A middleweight, you dumbass
FACT: Canelo has never fought AT middleweight, you dumbass

Canelo fights JMW opponents, 1lb over the JMW limit..... what sort of dopey clueless kid would call that middleweight?..... oh right, YOU would

boxing is not a maths game you ****head, and neither is making weight..... learn the sport and then get back to me..... no wait, don't!

I would call him a title holder not a champion at JMW. Liam Smith didn't beat Andrade to become champion and Andrade didn't beat a champion to become WBO champion either... that belt is a joke and so is calling Canelo JMW champion. IMHO.

good for you, the wbo calls him champion , and thats a fact not an opinion... canelo fought for a title at 154 in his last fight and won, that makes him a JMW fighter wheter you consider him the champion or titleholder...
