It's not like there's an argument for p4p #1 a stake for them. They've fought in different weight classes forever. There's no "REAL" beef between them.

    What is it?

Is it because it's a legacy fight?

Or is it for the money?
coz the best fight the best or else there'll be threads in 10 years time like Tyson vs Bowe...who would have won?

Well, it's getting to where every title is useless these days.

Sorry...was i promoting hbo in my post? The only thing that's ridiculous is asking why people would want to see 2 of the best fighters in the sport face eachother.

          so stop recognizing the WBO.

stop recognizing the WBA until they have 1 champion per division.

accept that the IBF is a stepping stone title and that the WBC is the top belt.

          problem solved.

That's fine for you and I but the boxing world recognizes all of them. It's really become a joke.

Up to the fans to reject it. We've always had two world champions. NYSAC (now WBC) and NBA (now WBA). NYSAC/WBC has always been superior to NBA/WBA.

And 15+ years of super champion/regular champion should have removed recognition of the WBA, leaving just the WBC.

Why do we have the IBF? Because Bob Arum didn't like that Don King was gaining power in the WBA, so he orchestrated a break off. And when Bob Arum lost power in the IBF, he orchestrated the IBA, which thankfully didn't gain acceptance. But Bob sure tried.

And the WBO exists because Arum exposed the WBA's bribe taker, forcing the WBA to get rid of him, so the WBA bribe taker created the WBO. And Europe chose to embrace WBOgus title fights because the US was dominating the real world titles.

But we have to stop pretending all the titles are equal because they aren't. The WBO heavyweight title wasn't even going to be shown in the US and wound up shown on tape delay. The next one might not be shown at all. How the hell is that the championship of the world? It isn't.

Arum regained power with the WBC for a while and ditched the IBA. Arum was even helping orchestrate the creation of the UBC to keep his alliance with Sulaiman.

Now that Haymon has the stroke with the WBC, Arum is full force with WBOgus titles. Arum literally controls like half of the WBO titles. It's crazy. And HBO has to go along with it because Haymon controls everything else.

But there is no doubt the world recognizes the WBC as the #1 title. So if you want fewer titles, stop recognizing the others.

                    Wow. Good breakdown, man.

I'd love to see one organization or even two recognized, believe me. Just goes to show that the promoters control everything in boxing. It takes something away from it.

Because Canelo tried to hold the Middleweight belts hostage, then fought at Canelo weight for a number of fights to avoid GGG. Now he is fighting over the middleweight limit again to side-step GGG so there is definitely animosity there.

Canelo is a natural middlweight despite what he claims and this would be the biggest fight at middlweight, as a fan why wouldnt you want to watch it?
