Going against the 3pt contest and dunk contest this is amazing, they should start putting Broner on PPV

im surprised that Broner is so popular. I mean he has proven himself to be mostly just sizzle, not streak. He's like a starving man's version of Mayweather on his worst day. And his schtick I find boring.
And credit to Granados, but its not like he's a world beater.
As someone pointed out, this fight did better than a rematch of the FOTY. Just goes to show you that sometimes sizzle is more important than substance.

Most people consume TV though DVR, DVR services like OnDemand, and steaming. None of those count in average live viewers. For example, HBO's The Night Of finale averaged 2.1M viewers but it reached 7M viewers over the week on different platforms. Game of Thrones typically averages 7-9M per episode but around 25M are reached over the week through services like streaming and DVR. HBO and Showtime don't care about their live TV average because they don't air commercials or receive advertising revenue. All they care about is how many people are they reaching overall through every platform, TV, internet, DVR, streaming etc etc.
Live TV is just a piece of the pie.

He may not be great but he was outstanding below 147 and when he has gone up has fought tough fighters other than Paulie.
You can criticize his lack of discipline and professionalism, but you can't minmize the fact that he fights hard and competes until the end. Most fans appreciate that.

But I hear you on that last part. Once in the ring, he does compete. Even when he was getting sparked by Chino, he fought back. He makes for fun fights.
I dont consider him a star, however.

My point is fans seem to tune in because he gives them a show before the fight (we can agree his prefight stuff is ridiculous but to each his own), fights to win (and goes for the KO) and then usually answers when he is questioned after the fight, whether he wins or gets his ass beat.
I think fans appreciate that.
