    Is a 12 Fight 4-5 hour Undercard Excessive ?

Here in Australia, the Mundine/Green fight had a 12 fight undercard which went around 5 hours.

All PPVs i have watched from the US only have 3-4 fights totally around 2 hours.

Is this long an undercard excessive ?

That is a ridiculously long undercard. I love watching boxing, but watching fights between guys with limited talent. On every boxing card, they have bouts that are simply filler fights, fights between 2 guys who the promoters have no invested interest in their careers.

I have been to many fights, and I usually don't take my seat until about 1 hour after admission begins. I will be in the hallways chilling with my friends, smoking cigarettes, and talking on the celly. If I am sitting down when the opening bouts are on, I'm usually on my PSP.

Usually, I watch the last 3 fights of the card with serious intent. Given that I go to alot of prospect cards, the first couple bouts usually aren't competitive. Its part logic, part ADD.

12 fights? ****! I guess if it's on a saturday, and you dont have **** else to do. I like when there's like 5 fights on a PPV card, I can get nice and drunk by the time the main event hits, so if it's disappointing, at least I'm wasted.

You know, you can learn more about boxing and the mechanics of boxing watching two bad fighters boxing then you can 2 world class fighters imo. So 12 fights is a little excessive but if I am going to an event, I am there early and am watching every fight watching every second of it.

yeah they were all televised. and essentially boring uneventful fights. with the exception of hopoate and tyrone the cyclone no fighter distinguished themself and by the time the main event started at 1030! the yawns had set in.

Ok, then that's where I have a problem. If they pushed the main event that far back then that undercard is excessive.

5 fights on a ppv would be perfect. At least 2 of those fights have to be good. The DK PPV that had five fights on it was pretty good.Me and my friend refer to it as "The Monster".On that card we had a good ko(Judah KO1 Rangel. An awesome KO (Simms KO5 Garcia.A boring fight (Ruiz W12 Rahman).A major upset (Spinks W12 Mayorga). Then a beating (Hopkins W12 Joppy). All in all it was a good card.We need more like it.

Depends on how much you like boxing. I think it would be great to see 12 fights in 1 night. You would get your moneys worth for sure and you get to check out some guys that might be great fighters in the future.
