I can definitely see the argument for open scoring and don't really think it's a bad idea. However I love the suspense of when the scorecards are being read, because for better or worse, you never really know how it's going to turn out. The only fight that I can remember with open scoring was Trout vs Canelo and while I had Canelo winning, I thought the scores were way off. I just remember watching it and thinking Trout was getting robbed in front of my eyes. It kinda ruined the fight for me in a way.
Draws should be Outlawed

It kills the anticipation, although I can see in a close fight that comes down to the last round that you don't show that until the scorecards are announced. Could make it a bit more interesting.I can definitely see the argument for open scoring and don't really think it's a bad idea. I've always longed for the days of 15 rounders again. Know it'll never happen but I always questioned how Pacquiao and Marquez 1-3 would have turned out with 15 rounds. I guess it's for the best but 15 seemed to be just right. 13 or 11 just seem weird.Comment

Not necessarily. A round can be even. There can be a 10-8 round. There were draws in 15 Rounders.Comment

There were draws if there were knockdowns. I'm talking about fights with no knockdowns. There's nothing in the scorebook allowing someone to score a fight 10-10 or 9-9 unless there was a knockdown.Comment

This is wrong. Rounds can (and occasionally do) get scored 10-10. Also rounds CAN be 10-8 without a knockdown. If a fighter is thoroughly dominant, a round can be 10-8 without a knockdown. Also rounds can certainly be 10-10. I often score even rounds, if I can't find a clear Winner. Read this....many judges seem to forget that 10-10 is an option. In fact, when I score, every round to me, is 10-10 by default, unless, someone does something that convinces me that they Won 10-9. All things equal, I'm at 10-10 by default. I realize most judges dont do this but I do. On average, in A 12 Rounder, I usually find 2 Or 3 Rounds even.

I'd prefer 13 rounds over 12.
It would be exciting to see 2 fighters fight a tie-breaker final round. It would be 'do or die", "sink or swim".
I bet it would create some dramatic boxing moments.Comment
