Do Commentators Get Paid Based On Fight Duration?

Say a fight only lasts 3 rounds do they still get paid the full amount in their contract? I ask because I'm thinking of becoming one in the future

    Absoutely not..

I would imagine anyone with a brain who resides in a commentary position has a contract with a flat fee for each respective event they are part of.

I always wondered how much guys like Kellerman and Lampley make.

I think Antonio Tarver said in court papers that he got 10K per appearance on Spike TV

That's pretty good. Sounds like a good job, fight ends early just go home and you're done for the day. I know that Lampley used to be a commentator in other sports such as American football and moved into boxing. I think a sports degree, some journalism in sports and interest in boxing is all you need (and of course good voice and banter).
