martinez had no defensive shell or instincts. his defense was movement. canelo is very good at slipping punches without moving. so hes going to outbox chavez easily from the outside then slip punches and land counters if he gets cornered(chavez isnt a good pressure fighter) repeat. even if he gets hit it doesnt matter since chavez has scored 1 knockdown in the last 7 years.

Canelo is 5'7''...he just makes me think how much better he'd be if he could get into shape and make 147. Even 154 is a bit too much for him and he's lucky this isnt the era of Wright, Oscar, Tito and co.

same thing. chavez was popped for diuretics, iirc. the guy is not a middleweight. he's a LHW or a cruiswerweight who uses drugs and sheds a ton of weight, then balloons back up to CW size on fight night. he is the biggest "MW" i have ever seen. that guy is absolutely enormous.

this will honestlt be a fight simply because of the size advantage. expect chavez to take a beating, too, because his chin's decent as long as he' still got it. canelo has too much skill, doe. way too miuch skill. canelo is a solid offensive fighter. his only problem is footspeed, and it's the only reason this fight will be exciting. vanelo does't have the footspeed to give chavez problems running away, so he'll have to give hiim something to think about when he gets aggressive.
Canelo's power is very overrated, he's going to have problems keeping Jr off of him, believe it

Only an interesting fight because chavez is by far the largest man Canelo has ever faced

He's an averaged size light heavy, thats what he is!
He just has very little power compared to other light heavies.
He had good power at his beginning (142ish) but at 175 he's ordinary.
He has very little talent and it showed up when Sergio boxed circles around him. If he can't jab effectively against Canelo he will get stopped.
