I'm interested to see what this does. Two non English speakers. Oscar is going to have to do the heavy lifting to sell this fight to the casual American fans. They gotta rely heavily on the Mexican-Americans to break 1 mil. Canelo fights in America but when you think about it he has no footprint in mainstream America. Pacquiao is still more know than Canelo.

Well one of Mayweather''s theories was that reason he sold PPVS is because there was some mysticism for wanting to see him lose. Of course that would seem like an oxymoron, but then how else would you explain it?
Therefore, if the growing hate for Alvarez or Golovin continues exponentially then it would follow the pattern that their PPVS will do better in the future because want r see them lose? No that can't be it. DE LA Hoya did good PPVS because people wanted to watch him?
Therefore people wanted to watch Floyd? People want to watch Alvarez? People want to watch Golovkin?
Alvarez will pull 500k, Chaves Jr. 400k, and the rest 100k.Comment

yes Oscar is delusional and a coke head but cotto vs Canelo did 900k and since Canelo did 290k vs nobody beefy Smith, I'm sure Canelo vs Chavez does better than that. My guess is 500k gullible fools will buy it.Comment

Yeah, I saw that quote. I'd assume the same, that he probably doesn't get the respect from some in Mexico he feels he deserves. I've heard that many in Mexico aren't too fond of him. Mexicans are hard core fans so I'm sure many aren't too happy with his business first approach to being. There's an article in Spanish from a yr ago called "Mexico no cree en Canelo Alvarez" that explains how he hasn't won over the hard-core Mexican yet.Comment
