You offer a 164 catchweight to someone who hasn't been anywhere near that weight in well over a decade (if ever) and call that a negotiation?
That is a way of admitting you dont really want the fight with Ward.
Especially if you were negotiating with Froch and Jr and others at the full 168...
He wasn't negotiating with those guys at that point. But when he was, they were clear A sides bringing all the money. So you make concessions for those, not for bigger B siders coming off 300k viewers on BET, asking for 50/50, a full weight concession and a tuneup

Huh!?!?!?
Soooooooo...if it was cool for A-side Lil g to offer that BS to B-side Ward...
...you have a huge problem with A-side Canelo (much huger gap than Lil g and Ward) making a much better offer to B-side Lil g?
Apparently the quote is irrelevant now cause it's 4 years old. Just sit back and enjoy the show.
It's not hard man. At the time anyone with a premium cable slot was A side to him, so he was willing to make concessions for most anyone. HBO tested his bluff: how about Ward? GGG said sure, Ward said here's an excuse. HBO is impressed, Gggs popularity grows. Soon enough it's only Froch and Chavez that are A side at 168. Both get offered 168 and home turf, both balk. HBO impressed again, fans impressed. So now only Canelo is A side but his appeal is sagging and Gggs still growing
