Comments Thread For: Daniel Dubois Inspired By Mike Tyson, Aims To Be British Version

DANIEL DUBOIS' love affair with boxing started in his living room watching Mike Tyson documentaries. Now he is looking to emulate the American puncher by becoming world heavyweight champion. Dubois, 19, will make his professional debut on April 8 after being snapped up by promoter Frank Warren, despite being GB Boxing's big hope for Tokyo 2020.

Mike's record still stands to this day. Incredible to believe he won the heavyweight title at just 20. What were most of us doing at that age?

I doubt he'll be breaking any records, Frank is a very cautious match-maker. It'll probably be 2022 before DuBois steps up to world level, if he makes it that far. Might have been better for him to stay amateur for a while, but then it would be difficult to unseat Frazer Clarke and get rounds in international tournaments. Could've at least had a go at the senior ABAs though

Nobody is breaking Iron Mike's record for a very long time.
