No, the WBC has the lineage of the old New York world title. The WBA has the lineage of the other states that joined together to compete against the New York world title.

Don't forget about the IBO, WBU, WBU (German version), WBF, WBFed, etc etc.

You choose for yourself which belts to recognize. There are only four titles because the public chose to allow it. Personally, I don't recognize the WBO and I barely recognize the IBF.

Which leaves the WBC & WBA, which are being unified on March 4. After March 4, it'll be very clear who the man is it welterweight.

He also runs marathons and has never ever sat in the ring between rounds. He's just in great shape and since he is in WBC rankings I believe he was.

The belt is meaningless a fraud & Peterson will be the most of that so-called champion in that he's the most beatable...

Good fight for Peterson I think he could have made the fight easier but it was the right decision. 9 to 3 or 8 to 4 was about right.

Not very durable either, which is what really sets him back.

Funny how it wasn't a surprise that even "seen better days" Lamont Peterson schooling Avanesyan wasn't an upset. And here we are 5 years later, and Smokin Bud Crawford is preserving the standard.

The issue I have with Crawford is that, okay we all know he stays fighting sh/t fighters, with good fighters sprinkled around the decade (Postol, Porter)…but why do ring announcers, journalists and boxing publications reward this guy with high rankings?

It’s like they’re advertising fighters should avoid fighting the best. And that’s how you get ranked highly.

But man, this guy stays fighting these types of fighters.

After beating Postol in 2016, the 6 years after that, he’s fought 1 more good fighter in Porter. 6 years, ONE good fighter.
