Why would anyone believe him when he said he could still make 126 when he'd just broken his contract and failed to make weight in his last fight? He threw the fight away at 126 and only paid lip service to wanting it when it was no longer on the table. Then when it was on the table again at 130 he tried to price himself out. You don't turn down a career high pay day in Walters' position if you actually believe in yourself. And now we know why he never believed himself, he knew Loma would clown him and knock him out

Salido's team aren't complaining about the money any more, they just prefer Vargas I guess because they view it as more winnable at this point. Siri got $50k against Vargas last time and $250k against Loma. Golden Boy can't compete financially with Top Rank. He just walked away from probably the biggest pay day of his long career

Davis should be the one being pushed to 135, right?
Dude, please stop with the victimhood BS. Loma can stay at 130 if he chooses, I just don't see who he is going to fight after Sosa. Salido isn't fighting him. I know they tried to get Corrales but the money was weak (according to Corrales people). Maybe Arum sweetens the deal and gets that fight signed.

Who other than Berchelt or possibly Flanagan would be a viable fight at 130?

And HBO doesn't pay his full purse. Top Rank, who signed the contract, pays for part of it.
Why don't you keep crying about it.
Yeah it's ******ed. Lomachenko is the A-side as long as he has Arum's backing, because Arum is the source of all the money in his weight class. Arum knew he would make a loss at first when he signed Lomachenko but banked on his talent eventually becoming profitable. That's the risk he had to take to get Loma in his stable

I'm sure he'll be taking a loss on Shakur Stevenson for a while too, though being American Shakur may have a lower threshold before becoming profitable

Loma is the A-side because Arum says he's the A-side. Arum is the one paying the purses. It's none of Walters or Salido's concern what Loma gets paid, that's between Loma and Arum. $500k for Walters and $250k for Salido are exceptionally good purses and the only reason they'd turn them down is if they were afraid of taking an L

Doubt it. Will the names Walters, J. Corrales, Sosa and Martinez really carry much weight 20, 30 years down the line? Probably not. To put himself in the history books at 130 in particular I think Loma has to more or less clean out the whole division

Mayweather at 130 had D. Corrales and Hernandez on his record plus seven other solid title defences besides that. Loma still has a ways to go to equal that

Well, if there isn't any fights for Loma at 130 then there isn't any fights for Davis.
I expect for people to start pushing Davis to fight Easter and Garcia since he is the truth. People were also claiming he would beat both of them a few months ago.

well blame arum and loma when other opponent dont have to respec this contract..arum wrote a bad contract for a guy who went out and loss..his best win without political bs or being in with a shot fighter is russell...that's cool, but all this praise and political BS is horrible if u're a real fan..i dont want to see it..i dont want to see guys getting unfair deals for this diva....

walters was afraid he'd get robbed again..ppl arent in it for one purse..they are in it to win and continue to make those purses..u think small minded in order to protect this diva...i dont mind manny diva'ing up at this point..he's earned it...but a dude with 8 fights and he's already putting ppl on year layoffs...man enough is enough

I'm wondering if there was an undisputed champion ever in this division (130). If it was a long time ago or never, then Loma maybe would be better served to make history this way.
