  • Comments Thread For: Manuel Charr vs. Odlanier Solis Set For March 11 in Bonn

The always well informed BILD in Germany writes that heavyweights Manuel Charr (28-4) and Odlanier Solis (22-3, 14 KOs) clash for the WBA interim title March 11 in Bonn in what must be described as a very surprising matchup for a world heavyweight title - surprising and undeserved especially in regards of Solis who is not even rated by the WBA.

I categorize these two fighters as "Boxers Who Are Finished But Don't Know Realize It"

And there are people out there who still continue to defend the WBA's actions, and believe their bull**** about consolidating the amount of titles.

Solis v Charr for an interim title is an absolute ****ing joke.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for the WBA (or any org for that matter) to reduce the amount of trinkets on offer - the sooner people realize that, the better.

I hope this becomes more comical than the Briggs-Oquendo purse bid that couldn't reach minimum.

Where's that fool who swore black and blue that the WBA was committed to sorting the messes out? I wish I could remember his name.

Promoters lie about this kind of stuff all the time. Until the WBA confirms this report, they should be given the benefit of the doubt. Remember when the Russian promoter claimed Roy Jones would be fighting for the super championship at Cruiserweight? Only for the WBA to debunk the claim. This could be a similar situation.

I agree, but I'm reserving judgement until I see if the promoter's claim is true.

There is no dis*****g that the WBA has been reducing the number of titles. The reason is simple. WBA titles were starting to lose value and the new president decided it was more lucrative long term if the brand was protected.

The minimum not being reached could result in Charr fighting for the world championship.

They are committed and their actions have shown that. Let's wait and see if this report is true.

I have no idea what either guy has left. Loser is probably done and winner could get a world title shot LOL

Odlanier Solis could of done some serious damage in the heavyweight division, if he lived the lifestyle 24/7....

Just look at him in his fight up against Vitali Kiltschko, even though he is not in the best of condition! His boxing ability was still vividly obvious! It is a shame that he sustained a knee injury during this fight...

Solis should be around about the same weight of David Haye, but instead he is massively out of condition!
