Comments Thread For: Jacobs on Golovkin: Best Win is Brook, I'm His First Real Test!

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - It's the point of the process where others began wondering what they'd signed up for. But not Daniel Jacobs. Instead, the 30-year-old is oozing cool as the days tick down to his date with multi-belted middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, set for March 18 at Madison Square Garden.

This is a good fight. Jacobs will get the respect that Brook didn't and we'll see how good Golovkin really is.

Jacobs is in with a shot here. If he's fighting the Golovkin that showed up vs Brook then he's far better than a 5/1 shot. 3G won't be able to just walk through Jacobs' bombs. Heck, even Brook stopped him in his tracks a couple of times.

I like the fact that he said "am scared", we are only human after-all and being nervous or scared before a real fight can help a lot in boxing. Makes you train harder, makes you look out for the little details that you wouldn't necessarily bother yourself with against weaker opponents etc

Good interview. Jacobs has the right mindset going in. Hopefully for him he can translate that into action on fight night. I don't think he should be looking at Brook as Golovkin's biggest test though. Sure Brook had some success but it was ineffective and bottom line it was an easy win for Golovkin.

Brook his greatest win? Not former unified middleweight champion Daniel Geale? Not defending IBF champion David Lemieux? Not Martin Murray the man that got robbed 3 times in world title bouts? Jacobs should do some research he's in for a tough night.
