Frankie Gomez and Jose Benavidez were suppose to be the next DLH and Fernando Vargas. They are now just the next Panchito Bojado with all the crap they get into, waste of talent.

The reason this kid never made progress is because he has an overbearing father who isnt a great trainer.

Jose Jr was a promising prospect who Freddie Roach took in as an amatuer before turning pro, I remember seeing this kid sparring pros at 16 and 17 and holding his own.

He even has video of him at 17 toying with Manny Pacquiao in sparring.

I heard Roach had a falling out with his pops, the pops was interfering with Roach gameplan and didn't want to hand over full reign to Roach so they left and went back to Arizona.

From the sound of it this gun shot wound is really bad if its taking this long

Jose is one of the few prospects that I've ever thought was the real deal. He was a teen doing pretty good in sparring against prime Pac.

Just shows how hard it is to scout talent so young. Just too many variables to dial in before they are fully developed.

I heard his finger got shot off. Is this true? If so, why do you think wasn't it wasnt mentioned?
