People aren't betting Jacobs because they think he'll win. They're betting because it's a better value. Why bet $900 on GGG to win $100 when you can bet $100 on Jacobs and win $900

For sure, Jacobs isn't some bum with no shot, he has finishing ability. GGG has to lose sometime. I'm a regular boxing bettor, mostly backing underdogs, and the value is on fighters that you think have a realistic chance to win as most do unless it's a total squash match. There have been a lot of boxing upsets so far just barely one month into 2017. I won money on all these dogs so far this year:

Leo Santa Cruz at +150 over Carl Frampton in the rematch
Luis Collazo at +340 over Sammy Vasquez
Christian Hammer at +210 over David Price

I also hit some crazy props like on Badou Jack/James DeGale majority decision draw for an $8 flyer at +6000 and Leo Santa Cruz wins by majority decision at +2000 and quite a few others.

I tipped these wagers elsewhere. A major boxing forum like this should really have a dedicated boxing betting thread to discuss boxing wagering instead of it just getting buried randomly in threads for each card.

Jacobs has a better shot than probably anyone that lil G has ever faced so I cn see people betting on him. The common sense bet would be on lil G but how much are you willing to bet just to come away with a return? I expect Jacobs to have some type of success in the early rounds but the longer this fight goes, the more I would expect lil G to take over and start beating Jacobs up in a bad way.
