Comments Thread For: "Fighting Words" - The Best Adrien Broner He Can Be

by David P. Greisman - This is the article that is written about Adrien Broner seemingly every year and by every boxing columnist. This is another article about a fighter who has won world titles and earned millions of dollars while also dealing with legal trouble and other self-inflicted controversies, who is talented and accomplished yet has failed to live up to his potential, who has taken losses that should have been humbling and been in situations that should've been eye-opening, only for him to make even more mistakes...

Didn't realise the contractual weight was 142.

If he's now asking for 147, he's obviously struggling to make 142. He missed the 140 weight with Theophane too, so got to wonder why he's fighting 140 lbers if he can't make that weight any more.

Just like Gatti, he couldn't make 140 any longer but was too small for 147.

His act has grown tiresome. If he can't make 140 then he's a welterweight and needs to fight legit 147 lbrs., not blown up 135-140 lb. fighters he can have a perceived unfair advantage over. He grew into this weight as he matured and needs to stop pretending he hasn't outgrown the division. Apparently his struggles with Malignaggi, Maidana and Porter, all fought above 140, have made the higher division less than palatable to him.

Broner is the same size as Thurman and Porter. 5'7 Broner, 5'6 1/2 Porter, 5'7 1/2 Thurman. He is a natural welterweight.

Broner is ****** garbage poorly raised and ignorant to others

Broner does not belong in boxing and probably is better off in a cell somewhere away from decent clean living Americans.

Hopefully he now sees how serious this boxing game is. We at Boxcaster YouTube did a feature on him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2XmhN1TaTo

broner is what we've already seen, nothing more, nothing less. without any physical advantage (fighting midgets) he can't handle top opposition. is that simple
