  • Gennady Golovkin vs. Billy Joe Saunders in Kazakhstan later this year... any sources?

I'm seeing this reported more and more and spoken about as if it's a done deal. Are there any reputable sources for it? Where did the story even come from?

Source is a GGG victory next month or no one would care about this fight.

Where have you seen it? Link?

I would say there's zero chance of Saunders fighting anywhere expect the UK or US.

"Billy Joe Saunders vs Gennady Golovkin is scheduled for this summer in Kazakhstan!", the statement reads. One user asked as to why there already are reports about the fight, when GGG has not yet held a fight with Daniel Jacobs.

The answer was: "I think they a going to announce that he [Saunders] will fight the winner of the Golovkin vs Jacobs fight. But the conditions (money, venue, etc.) have already been approved, according to Billy Joe."

If the information proves true, the fight will most likely take place in Astana in the framework of EXPO-2017.
That's one source. Also, Billy Joe has apparently been dropping hints in interviews that he's "traveling east" to fight "the best of the best". People are guessing he could also mean Ryo Murata in Japan.

I can see this, GGG grabs the WBO then moves up to continue his pursuit of Canelo at Caneloweight, 164.5. Dude has constantly said he wants all the belts yet obviously wanted the Canelo fight more for the riches, he can't really move up until he has the belt, grab the belt and vacate 160 in pursuit of Canelo again.

Started with a Saunders interview and was then fuelled by Dan Rafael

I think Loeffler denied it though

Sorry to say that but Kazakhstan is a really poor country, just like any other post-soviet country, so that's to say venue will be nothing. Unless Golovkin wants to make his home people happy just being a good boy, for almost no money, he won't be fighting there. And their favorite sport is boxing

Rafael is wise to BJ's bull****, he wouldn't be echoing if he didn't know more. Loeffler can't appear to be overlooking Jacobs on ppv
