The WBA yesterday ordered WBA welterweight champion Ricky Hatton to defend against Oktay Urkal within 120 days. The 36-year-old Urkal is #1 in the WBA rankings and the mandatory challenger. Hatton won the title last Saturday in Boston by unanimous decision dethroning title defender Luis Collazo. "We already have a contract with Hatton's promoter," said Sauerland Events general manager Chris Meyer in Berlin today, "and this fight formly goes in September or at the latest in October in England." In the event Hatton gives up the title rather than face Urkal, the Berliner will face the winner of the June 24 eliminator between Carlos Quintana and Joel Julio for the vacant WBA title.
Urkal will get the belt, if Hatton drops it. Hes ****ed, cause hes gonna have to fight somebody who'll KHTFO.
