Is it possible that a future era could spawn the greatest fighter ever?

Or would people just say that the older fighters couldn't be beat?

Of course it's possible, whether people give the man credit or not is another story.

SRR is the best fighter that has existed thus far, however, he may not be the greatest of all time. That's impossible to know, and people who believe there will never be a fighter as good as him are incapable of being objective when comparing modern fighters to the older fighters.

The only people with this kind of mentality is those new to the sport. They think that this is all there will be. There will always be new superstars and star athletes. Not to long ago when Dela Hoya and Trinida were on the way out and people starting talking how boxing would not be the same with out them, Pac and Floyd came into the picture. Their will always be someone else sooner then later.

Why not? The population of the world is constantly growing. More countries are getting involved in pro boxing. The money a boxer can make keeps increasing. More money to tempt the talented. More pro boxers in the sport. The odds of a new best ever boxer coming along in the future are very good in my opinion. Records are constantly being broken in weight lifting, swimming, track and field etc. A best ever boxer in the future is very likely. As usual not all the boxing fans would agree that the new upstart was the best ever.

I meant it sarcastically. Like say the greatest boxer to grace this Earth fought in the near future. I can bet money that a lot of the fans would still say that Sugar Ray Robinson was better just to prevent being ostracized by the rest of the community.

Nope....not even close. Less risk, more reward mentality.
