Comments Thread For: How Long Until The Talk Turns To Robert Easter vs. Mikey Garcia?

By Cliff Rold - Mikey Garcia's brutal knockout win of Dejan Zlaticanin was the sort of win that gets people excited. The win also put Garcia in the thick of an interesting lightweight division. It returned Garcia to the title ranks. Now holding a major belt (WBC) in his third weight class, one fight removed from a two-year layoff, Garcia's star is shining. The WBC has already weighed in on the future, positing a showdown between Garcia and WBA titlist Jorge Linares (41-3, 27 KO)...

Garcia has to fight the Lineres/Crolla winner next, so his best option is whoever comes out #1 between Flanagan & Petrov.

Easy unification for Garcia. Fight makes sense if Mikey's looking to put a strangle - hold on the division or become the undisputed champion at 135lbs.

I've been talking about it for like two whole days. This fight makes sense. Robert is a BIG lightweight, with skill and power. Mikey is moving up, he has no edge on paper, just momentum. The iron is hot, now's the time, a good undercard and we have a mega event.
