This fight is a joke. No matter how you spin it, Cotto is 2.5 to 3 weight classes naturally bigger than JMM.

    126 vs 140 starting.

    140 vs 154 now.

Cotto cant even make welter anymore, his own words. JMM is not even a real welter and is a 140 lber who fought there because thats where the names were.

Cotto is looking for a cherry.

I got a better opponent for cotto, Tim bradley the last guy who beat marquez
Yep, Bradley is a much better fight. Marquez is RJJ/Hopkins old now, Cotto should have more dignity than that.

this is a good scrap. I would favor cotto because of his size and marquez has been inactive in some time. But marquez is an awesome counter puncher! probably one of the best ever. either way it would be good stuff. Mexico vs Puerto Rico is always entertaining.

          catchweight fights suck
That's a fair point, the only thing I would add is that everytime you see a glass half empty, others might see it half full. Meaning, some will feel the catchweight sucks away the fun of the fight, while others are grateful the fight is happening.

"But, Marquez ran out of memo-medicine though"

            "Nah but...His knee though"

"Marquez is old but Cotto is prime though"

Damn, wounded knee once referred to an event in American history. It's been hijacked by peasantry...
Peasant comes and lays the truth once again.

Excuses already being made. #KingCotto win or lose will get discredited.

Wins by KO/Stoppage: Marquez was old, inactive, his knee

Wins by Decision: Could not stop an old/inactive bad knee having Marquez...Cotto should retire, etc...

#WarCotto losses: He is a bum, overhyped, etc.

            Lose-lose situation for #KingCotto

The young "lions" should fight each other! They want to prove themselves, they need to fight each other just like Cotto, Marquez, Pac, Floyd, etc did.

Bunch of snowflakes, they want to be champs? build legacy? #Fighteachother

Marquez would probably get stopped by a competent contender at this point in his career. Dodgy knees in his 40s isn't a good sign.

Yeah either way Cotto gets no credit over the real life boy who cried wolf till everyone believed it. I don't know where Marquez gets off telling Cotto what weight either. He isn't the A side as we say. Even when he fought Pac, PaC was the A side.

What a terrible terrible fighter Cotto has become, going corpse hunting again, first shot whale Kirkland and now over 3 year retired 43 year old midget Marquez. What a farce this Diva is. Laughable. Retire already you disgusting clown.
