    Question

    Hello mates and fellow boxers
Hope you are all having a great day !
So i am just wondering about something lately
I am from egypt and boxing isn't really the most popular sport here but there is an issue
You see from some reason gloves here are only 8,10,and12 oz there not any 14 or 16 oz gloves, wich means most guys here spar with 10 oz or 12 oz sometimes 8 oz !!!!!!!
Did i mension that 80% of the time without headgear so i am un upcoming amateur and i am still young (15 years old) and i am just wondering i know this is bad for my brain health but how bad is it ? Is it worth it ?
And is there anyway to remain safe while sparring with guys with 10 oz who most of the time happen to be older than me ?
I going to buy the winning headguard with the cheeck protector and some 16 oz winnings too will sparring with 16 oz against 10 oz make a huge disadvantage or no ?
    Thank you for your time
    Cheers !!!!!!

Honestly, headgear and big gloves protect more against cuts and hand injuries than brain injuries...you're still getting hit in the head either way. Aside from the fact that headgear makes your head a bigger target, if it doesn't fit properly it can end up impeding vision. I wouldn't spar with guys wearing 8oz gloves.

you might aswell go bare knuckle if you're going to spar for prolonged periods with someone wearing 8oz gloves.

Just dont mention Floyd vs Maidana
