LOL, but yea I'm a big proponent of the ignore feature here myself. Some people act like its some sissy stance to use the ignore feature on people you don't enjoy reading, but I equate not doing it with trying to listen to every idiot & bum you encounter in your life instead of trying to zone them out. I mean I f#cking wish I could put the 300lb lady complaining about pickles being on sale in a grocery store line on ignore.Comment

I know exactly what you mean. This is phenomenon for when I go on here that I call Rumack's Window. That stage where posters are making an effort to offer an original point of view or a reasonable analysis, and before which it descends into a repetitive, shitposting nightmare.I don't know. Most topics degrade into school yard name calling at some point. In all honesty, some of the best threads I've been in have been like 20-30 comment ones with like 3 or 4 participants. You are always going to have the random trolls and the asshats aka the usual suspects in larger threads. There are like 15-20 people on here that I feel I can interact with and it won't turn into a YDKSAB or race baiting crap. I generally avoid the GGG/Kov/Mayweather etc etc topics, but, I get dragged in on occasion lol.
Some topics have a large window in terms of time. Like where the topic is relatively low profile division like cruiserweight, or sub-20 fight prospects, or one that requires people to have some knowledge of older fighters who weren't on PPV.
Other topics have a window of less than one page. These include almost every Mayweather, Pacquiao, Golovkin, and Kovalev-Ward thread. Also includes every P4P and PPV split thread ever made.
Almost no topic has a window that spans five pages. A window that spans 10 pages is unheard of. Sometimes a particularly passionate or knowledgeable poster will prise the window open when the thread is ten pages deep. But this will always attract the attention of the shitposters, who will slam the window shut and smear their shitposts all over it with renewed energy.
If you NSB well you can pretty accurately assess what windows are shut with just a glance. The window will still be open on a typical cruiserweight/prospect/historical thread when it's 3 or 4 pages deep. The window will be shut on a Golovkin thread by the time you've refreshed the page.Comment

I'm the same. I only do with people who spam every thread on the board with the same points. Simple because there is never anything to be gained by hearing what they have to say, yet they insist that everyone hears it.LOL, but yea I'm a big proponent of the ignore feature here myself. I often think that the whole place would be dramatically improved if the people who constantly argue with each other could just be prevented from seeing each other's posts. They would have nothing to argue against and everyone else would be spared their arguments.
But at the end of the day I think they need each other. If their opponents were gone they wouldn't know what to do with themselves.Comment

I agree. Two fights that will probably never happen. Anybody who believes McGregor has a chance of beating Mayweather under boxing rules has a lot to learn about the boxing skill level of a top MMA fist fighter vs. the boxing skill level of a great boxing champion.Comment
