Comments Thread For: Sosa: Lomachenko Did What He Should've Done With Walters

As much as Jason Sosa wanted to see Nicholas Walters test Vasyl Lomachenko, Sosa suspected that was an unlikely scenario. Sosa, who'll challenge Lomachenko on April 8, figured Walters had been too inactive to be ready to win a fight that difficult. Walters went 11 months without boxing between his fights against Sosa, who drew with Walters in December 2015, and Lomachenko, who dominated the previously unbeaten former featherweight champion.

Hopefully Walters gets himself back together and reenters the big picture. A lot of exciting fights. He may be stuck with that decision he made for a long while but second chances in boxing do happen. He'll have to start on a smaller network and work back up perhaps.

Walters had a better chance of winning had they fought a year earlier instead of him waiting a year for that fight. The draw with Sosa was pure BS.

Walters quit and his career will suffer going forward because he did so.

Lomachenko shouldn't have any trouble against this guy.
