Comments Thread For: Kovalev: I Doubt Andre Ward Retires, It's Not in His Best Interest

Sergey Kovalev (30-1, 26 KOs) is counting down the days to determine the next course for his career. The last time he was in the ring, last November, he lost a close twelve round unanimous decision to Andre Ward at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Ward, who was down in the second round, captured the Kovalev's WBA, WBO and IBF light heavyweight world titles.

Kov should move up to cruiserweight!
He was totally outclassed by SOG.....not!!

Ward must rematch the man and give him his chance for redemption!

Lmao, kov the only one who doesn't want him to retire.

Even the people who still pretend to be andre ward fans don't really care if he retires.

Quit stalling ward, we all know your hoping Kovalev gets out of shape in the lay off and wanting to capitalise

            Rematch this man
I wonder if Kovalev can blast ward in the rematch

Ward was woozy after punches that skimmed him
He (ward) will try make if ugly and messy again, Kovalev must keep it long and keep him at bay
I think Kovalev comes in real strong in the rematch

Very excited to see it happen

Smart of Kovalov to sound conciliatory.

Wouldn't be surprised if Ward quits. He knows he got beat up in the first fight, knows he lost, knows he got a huge gift. If it does happen, which I hope it does, I think Kovalev will be true to his word and stalk Ward and stop him. Doubtful he lets Ward get into his same boring rhythm he always gets into.

"Ward is willing to do the fight again, but only under the right conditions. If those conditions aren't met, Ward has even threatened the possibility of retiring to focus on his career as an expert analyst for HBO and other networks."

Does anyone know what these conditons are?

Ward needs to man up and honor the rematch clause retire all you want after that.
