This was the opponent that everyone was asking for on here, a world class middleweight. So, if golovkin beats jacobs, should he be considered pound for pound number 1?

For me, a win over Jacobs puts him at number 2, right behind Gonzalez. A win over Canelo gets him number one.

There is not clear cut pound for pound number 1, but if i was to pick somebody? it would have to be Andre Ward! even with a shaky decision in his last fight! When you analyze the technical and physical abilities of both their opponents? (Andre Ward has beaten better fighters!)......

The pound for pound number 1 spot, is also about how you perform and in what kind of fashion! great athletes don't just have the ability to win! they have the ability to produce profound performances under pressure! Athletes like Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, Carl Lewis & Usain Bolt! these athletes had the ability to produce their best performances on the biggest occasions! and for me Golovkin has this same kind of ability! he is not just beating his opponents, he is destroying their careers and psyches! So for him to elevate himself to the number 1 spot, all he needs to do is get some real big wins! (But unfortunately the middle-weight division at this point in time is devoid of any major threats! It is not a very hostile landscape at 160 in my opinion)......

His win over the feared Peter Quillin made him the most ducked fighter in boxing until Golden Goose Gennady...i mean GGG showed some cajones and bravely took on this match up knowing he'll be the underdog!

Jacobs will be expected to wipe out Golden Goose Gennady..i mean GGG and its up to GGG to.prove all doubters wrong and win this tough tough match up that is all wrong for him style wise!
