Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez admitted on 'Golpe a Golpe' that a legacy fight with Miguel Cotto is far more important to him than a big money offer for a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao. Marquez made it clear that he must first be 100 percent in the gym and then look to finalize his next fight. It was revealed a few days ago, by Cotto himself, that his handlers are back in talks with Marquez's team.

After the Kirkland fight fallout Im sure Cotto will make the weight concessions . Might get 148/149 . Because unless De LaHoya calls about a Canelo rematch . Marquez's in the driver's seat . I got Marquez UD over a drained Cotto ( maybe even a KD or two in there ) .

Now this is a more worthy PPV fight. Should do decent numbers. PR vs. MEXICO fights are usually always fun and worth watching. I'd buy this fight.

cotto is just too strong for him,,marquez is old,he'll be 44 if they do fight this year,i don't know why cotto would want marquez,obvioulsy the money,but he can fight brook and get paid good too and try to become a champion again,,i think that fight there is better for cotto,

Roach will push for this because he can get some sort of redemption against Marquez using Cotto to beat him. I like the fight. I think it would be very interesting although Marquez is hella old and could very lose just because of that.

The press cons for it would be funny because both guys are gracious as *** and will show nothing but class and respect towards each other. When the bell rings though, some serious brutality can take place, lol. Again though, a fight where both guys were younger than they are now would have been something, but nowadays, I think a younger Cotto could have enough activity left in him to force an older Marquez to dig into a well he doesn't have anymore.
