Whatever you think Khan is, he is several levels above Christian Fabian Rios, Nuhu Lawal, and Renold Quinlan- some of the latest opponents of guys Lil g has fought.

As for Pac, I think several factors explain his lack of stoppages since 2009. Doesn't mean he stopped being dangerous as hell tho.

Why on earth are you bringing up the opponents of GGG's former opponents? GGG destroyed them regardless.

Several factors, you mean like no longer taking peds?

Thurman I can see being there because of his win over Porter.

            But SPENCE?!??!

Yeah, getting a razor thin decision over Porter make you for sure a TOP 10 P4P fighter...

Porter has beaten Broner and Paulie after all...

I was just trying to find a way to say Thurman belongs there, to help the guy, and better understand why he would agree with SPENCE and Thurman being there, but not GGG.

You're right - Thurman nor Spence belong in a top 10 p4p list, however, one could at least make some sort of argument for Thurman.. But bloody Errol Spence? Whose best scalp is Algieri?!?!?

That's what all of it really was meant to address, and put in proper perspective: Why he thinks Atlas is right about Thurman, and especially Spence being top 10 PfP, and GGG not being there.

Any post that starts with the premise that Atlas is right about anything is Fail from the start.

That's why I used the example of welterweight Leonard, I could've easily used lightweight Duran, or even better career middleweight Hagler. Pound for pound not because he changed divisions, but because by comparison to his peers at other weights, a more skilled powerful destructive fighter. The fact he didn't fight Qawi doesn't change that. Heard of him?
Dwight Qawi? The cruiserweight? The guy Holyfield beat twice? The guy who lost to every skilled fighter he faced? That Qawi? Or another one?

I bring them up because how Lil g's opponents have performed postfight (with a lot of the fights against non elite competition) speaks volumes on how good they actually were...which in turn explains why someone- like myself back in December and Atlas recently- would feel very comfortable leaving Golovkin off a top 10 P4P list despite him looking very much like a great in the making.

Lil g is unproven against elite competition. And the non-elite competition of other fighters on the list trump the level of Golovkin's.

As for Pac, stopping a drained and cement damaged welter is a completely different thing than stopping a healthy full fledged one. As much as I suspect Pac may have done some things, there is zero proof and he is innocent til shown to be guilty. Truth is, even dangerous punchers at lower weights become less so as they move up.

Dwight Qawi, the light heavyweight who along with Spinks was always calling Hagler out to come up a weight and test himself. One of the greatest 175lbers of all time, beating Roth man, Saad Muhammad ect. "The man who lost to every skilled fighter he ever faced"? Now you just look silly.
