The problem with Khan is he thinks his hand speed is the answer to everything. He doesn't use his BRAIN & that's part of the reason he gets KO'd along with not having any sort of defensive skills. I put Khan in the same boat as Broner, they do not care if they win or loose, they only care about getting pay checks. They just talk a lot of crap to make fans think their showing up to win.
If Khan gets beat by Garcia again (which I'd bet money on, as Garcia has become a world's better fighter since then while Khan has basically kept stagnant), in his mind, he could still head to the UK and fight Kell Brook for a big purse.

If Khan gets flattened by Kell Brook (which is a real likelihood), he's basically finished as a marketable fighter at this point. Not more complicated than that.

Broner is in a different boat, in the sense that he's got the boxing gifts without that maniacal fear of defeat (which most of the great fighters have) to max out on his gifts; the pay cheque part is a bit different.

Take your pick........Garcia, Thruman or Brook would eventually catch him. They aren't small enough to lay on like he did a shop-worn Collazo and all are better counter-punchers than Algieri with real power.

Khan, despite having some gifts, never puts it all together. The closest he came was vs Maidana and he was lucky to get out of that one without being decapitated. When he faces skill with real power......he gets KTFO.........

If he used his gifts and fought intelligently, he'd have never lost again after Prescott. And the new style he was developing at WW where he'd use a "WLad Klit-style" were nauseating to watch. He hasn't fought a real puncher at WW yet and despite the weight difference, I don't think getting hit by Garcia, Thurman or Brook will look all that different than Canelo who, IMHO, has less skills than any of those three...........Spence would end him quickly in a 'good while it lasted' fight.

Khan's downfall will always be his willingness to try and show 'who's the boss'.........he won't beat the best fighters especially above 147.........he'll get KO'd every time his opponent has solid fundamentals and no injuries. Danny will catch him a some point every time........doesn't matter if it's 7 rounds to 0 and Garcia has thrown 20 shots........it will always only take one and Khan doesn't have the discipline to stay within his fightplan throughout. He'll always fall for the bait with feints, whatever the trick used.

That's why it's a little bizarre to me that he didn't take the biggest money out there for him, which would clearly be Brook at Wembley?? He's clearly running scared there after all the BS he's talked...

And BTW..........Brook had some moments but was in no way 'schooling' GGG..........and for that matter, Khan wasn't exactly 'schooling' Garcia...he won the first five minutes of the fight but you could see what was coming....at least I could.......

If you have to hold, lay on, and straight arm Collazo, you're not beating a top 5 WW............as in Spence, Brook, Thurman, Garcia.......certainly not Pac even at his age or even Crawford if he moves up. Khan has got as far as he can get without guys moving up or getting stripped. He has to hope to pick up a vacant or something.........and right now and for the next 2-3 years, that doesn't look good from him at 147-154..........

I agree wih his for he most part..........but I think Brook was trying to take the big check vs Khan, a much safer fight IMHO, than Spence. I'm not saying he's ducking Spence but a fight with Khan would be easier to get above 147 since they've both done it and Spence has a chin.

Personally, as it stands now I believe Spence and Brook are the top two WW in the world. 154 is no easy task.........I think Brook wanted to cash in before getting into deeper waters. But ultimately, as long as he fights these guys and is successful, even if not 100%, the fight with Khan will get closer to 50/50 as Khan is KO'd any time he steps up his caliber of opposition at 147-154..........

Good post. But Khan was an easier and better paying option than Spence.........just my opinon.........

Personally hope Thurman pulls it off, tough fight against dsg. Either way khan sees DSG as the slight easier opponent then thurman i would think due to the size of thurman and the manner he was out boxing dsg for first 2.5 rounds... Only thing is... Dsg started throwing them wide hooks knowing it will land and when it does it will be lights out. DSG will spark khan out 7 days out the week. Thurman would stop him inside 4 rounds, Brook may last abit longer but same outcome, broner cant see khan beating, nor porter, definately not spence. Who else does he have? If he does some how get a shot at pac at the end of year, i seriously hope Roach drains him and says 140lb or no fight lol. Would be awesome

While true that Khan outboxed Garcia the first 2 1/2 rounds, nobody can deny that Amir has a very weak chin. In order to win, Khan would need to avoid totally any power punch thrown by Garcia, which seems to me would be very difficult. Sooner or later, Khan would receive one big blow showing again his poor resistance to heavy punching.

                  The fights are 12 rounds.

Lots of horses lead at the turn only to run last, Khan is just the same pitty patter front runner that will always get caught when in with the top guys.

Might as well get KO'd at 147 as well, so Khan fans can say our guy has been KO'd in every weight class that he's fought in.

The WBC should force Khan to fight in an elimination bout with Bradley or Porter, rather than letting him fight a tune up in April! How long has Khan held that #1 contender spot?
