    Is Daniel Jacobs being underestimated?...

As with many fighters, we dont know how good he actually is and what his ceiling of talent is.
When he lost to pirog, he was a young kid, physically the difference between what he was like then, and what he is now, is like night and day.
That fight was 7 years ago, as with any sports, a boxer can improve. No doubt hes learned from that loss and hes barely put a foot wrong since in recent years. Jacobs demolished peter quillin in one round, and defeated sergio mora twice, in sensational style in the rematch.
Style wise, we know golovkin can be hit. Although i think his defense is underappreciated, hes not pernell whittaker, hes there to be hit.
One thing we know about jacobs is that he can crack. If golovkin has an off night, or gets caught with the type of shots that brook caught him with, he could be in serious trouble here.
The thing is, if daniel jacobs had fought golovkins opposition, he may well too be unbeaten, so how is everyone so sure that golovkin will win? Pirog was likely better than anyone golovkin has fought.
Everyones looking for a ggg v canelo fight, but what i think your looking at is an opponent who is more dangerous. Any chin can be cracked and this could end up being a real firefight...

Golovkin fans starting to feel the pressure.

    Suddenly, they aren't so confident.

Yes but I'd suggest you to take some time off. There are many things to do in life, don't worry so much about non important things.

Talking about the topic itself... yes, he is. And you know why. They want him to look like a mismatch so when it's a close fight or even if ggg loses they will say ggg was a bum. That's the whole point of it. And they will say that us ggg fans are overrating Jacobs so in case he beats ggg he doesn't look so bad.

But the reality is that Jacobs is #2 MW and also bigger, heavier, longer, and younger. And... with more hunger.

So yes, it should be a very difficult fight.

        Confident about what?

Jacobs is the #2 MW. Is not like he's a walk in the park.

I remember all the talk after the Brook fight when haters said what if instead of Brook it's Jacobs who lands those shots on Golovkin. And now Jacobs has no chance to beat him...

GGG fans are building up Jacobs so that if GGG wins it will be a huge win.

GGG haters are playing down Jacobs so that if GGG wins it won't be seen as a good victory.

Jacobs is imo an above average fighter. I ranked him B/B+ in the poll which I think is fair.

GGG is imo an A- level boxer which is why he is an 8-1 favorite. If GGG wins this will be the best opponent he has defeated and he will get credit from me and every rational fan.

As for this thread, it's utterly disgraceful that GGG fans keep pretending he Is being devalued just to take credit away from GGG should he win.

Added to that, the very scummiest GGG fans have been trying to premptively justify if GGG loses by implying Jacobs is on roids.

Never seen such an immature and mentally weak fanbase in all my years of watching the sport.

Jacobs is a good fighter but the truth is Golovkin should take care of him unless he is done. The guy is 35 years old, not everyone is BHop. Father time gets us all.

I don't think he is being underestimated! Daniel Jacob's is a decent 160 pound fighter! But if you was to analyze his past fights, there is not a single attribute that he has displayed inside of the ring that is great! deep down the media and his fans know, that as a fighter he is just above average! in most of technical area's of his game. Jacob's have no massive flaws in his game, but he also does not posses any massive great attributes.......

What will hurt Jacobs mostly in this fight, is his lack of movement! and from my observation he seems weak in his core stability as athlete (He constantly stumbles about in fights for no apparent reason!) I am not aware of the physiological preparation that he has been implementing for this fight, but if he has been neglecting his core? he has made a massive mistake.

If he was to improve that one area of his game substantially, he would have a better chance of nullifying Golovkin's offensive! and even bullying him to a certain extent! (Because he is the bigger fighter)...

Jacobs is a good fighter and the second best fighter at MW. He has his flaws but he'll give GGG a better fight at MW than Canelo. It's hard to get a read on how good Canelo really is. He's had some close fights against Trout and Lara but that was years ago. Has he gotten better? Yes. But how much better? Kirkland, Khan, Smith, and Cotto doesn't really tell us how much better he's gotten. And we have no idea how good he'd be at middleweight. This is the best fight at MW in my opinion
